The DACAS Use case, part of the PROTEAS demonstration activities, took place in the south of Paris, France, 2-3 June 2026, during the Amboise XVIII experimentation event.

The demonstration was organized by the French Special Operations Command (Commandement des Opérations Spéciales – COS) and the French Directorate General of Armament (Direction générale de l’armement – DGA). IMPACT and RME participated to the exercise. Representatives from IDE also attended the Amboise XVIII experimentation, in its role as PROTEAS Project Coordinator. A limited number of invited stakeholders also participated.

The DACAS demonstration formed a dedicated subset of the Amboise XVIII experimentation programme. Its primary objective was to conduct the PROTEAS Use Case 6 demonstration.

A dedicated agenda was established for the PROTEAS DACAS audience, featuring the demonstration of an approaching aircraft exchanging information with the DACAS ground-based Command and Control (C2) software. The programme also included presentations on selected Amboise experimentation activities and opportunities to visit innovation stands, accompanied by French partners.

For the demonstration, a Rafale fighter aircraft configured with DACAS capabilities and a Mirage 2000 aircraft were made available by the French Armed Forces.

In parallel, extensive discussions took place between IMPACT, DGA, IDE, and the French Special Operations Command regarding the development of a potential collaboration for a PROTEAS II Project, expressing their intention to support this initiative. This strong interest reflected the thus far successful implementation of the current PROTEAS project, which has achieved all major milestones to date and is now entering its final three months where the rest of the demonstration activities are to take place (November 2026).
