Work Plan

The PROTEAS project will be carried out through 10 work packages (WPs) and four phases.

The cross-project WPs “General Management and coordination of the Project Work package” and “Dissemination, exploitation and standardization activities” will run throughout the entire project.

The project began 01/12/2023 and will end 30/11/26.

Phases

The 8 remaining technical work packages, will follow the below workplan.

The study phase will focus on the provision of the Concept of Operations (COV), the user and system requirements, the PROTEAS Architecture, the PROTEAS integration plan and finally the use cases with respect to which the developed prototypes will be tested, demonstrated and evaluated, against specific KPIs.

This phase is composed of a single work package dealing with User/Systems' Requirements and Overall Framework Architecture.

The design phase will initially focus on the successful attainment of the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and later the Critical Design Review (CDR), the latter signifying that the design is appropriate to proceed to the prototyping phase, respective the identified cost and schedule constraints.

This phase is composed of five work packages dealing with:

  • Design of SOFCPC2: air, road and sea transportable and rapidly deployable facilities
  • Design of SOFCP advanced C2 Systems
  • Design of SOFCP ad-hoc and secure ICT Infrastructure and cyber security Framework
  • Design of PROTEAS Intelligence and sensing S/W platform
  • SOFCP Integrated manned/unmanned Assets

The prototyping phase will focus on the attainment of the Test Readiness Review in order to proceed to the testing activities and the verification of the performance of PROTEAS individual systems and of the proposed Framework as a whole, in accordance with each system’s defined KPIs.

This phase is composed of a single work package dealing with Prototyping of PROTEAS Framework.

The testing phase will focus on the verification of the performance of PROTEAS individual systems and of the proposed Framework as a whole, in order to ensure that they are in compliance with the predefined KPIs. The operational tests and evaluation of the SOFCPC2 prototypes will be implemented with the prerequisite to cover the needs of at least 50 military personnel, according to the testing scenarios defined by the supporting Member states.

This phase is composed of a single work package dealing with Integration and testing of SOFCPC2 Framework.
