Eight Bells promoted PROTEAS at BEYOND 2026

Eight Bells participated in the BEYOND 2026, held on 17-19 June in Athens, Greece.

Beyond Expo has rapidly evolved into one of the most influential technology and innovation platforms in Southeast Europe. Its positioning extends beyond a traditional exhibition format, functioning as a regional convergence point for technology, investment, digital policy and innovation ecosystems. It brings together, startups & innovation organizations, research and academic institutions, institutional representatives, public organizations & local authorities, innovation ecosystems from Greece and abroad. Beyond therefore represents a knowledge triangle with a quintuple helix model – a meeting point of technology, innovation, and public policy. This makes the platform particularly relevant for international business communities seeking strategic visibility and engagement in the region.

During the technology exhibition, our project partner showcased its dual-use technologies, including its Marine Multi-Sensor Gimbal System, developed for the PROTEAS Project. The maritime gimbal thermal camera, which is intended for integration on unmanned surface vessels (USVs), features long-range operation and combines an electro-optical sensor for daytime use, a thermal sensor for day and night detection, a laser range finder and a two-axis stabilization system.

Additionally, Eight Bells’ dedicated PROTEAS team, briefed the visitors on the project and presented the project’s vision to deliver a mobile and integrated Command & Control solution for Special Operations Forces, designed to fuse multiple sensing and communication technologies.

BEYOND 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to present PROTEAS to a wider technology and innovation audience, connect with stakeholders and promote the project’s contribution to advanced dual-use and defence-related technologies. The project attracted significant interest from visitors, who provided very positive feedback on its objectives, technological innovations and potential impact.
