Role in PROTEAS project: IMPACT is in charge of studying and coordinating partners related to PROTEAS Command and Control (C2) System for the Special Operation Forces Command Post (SOFCP) and for low SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) mobile terminals. This includes the DaCAS (Digitally aided Close Air Support) platform as well as the interfaces and adaptors to ensure the interoperability with sensors equipment, data processing systems, and other C2 systems.
The European PROTEAS consortium is making significant progress toward creating a deployable command post for Special Forces, designed to operate across Europe. At the heart of this system, the Impact Delta Suite, initially conceived as an operational solution for French special forces, has been thoroughly revised, enhanced, and integrated into the overall project architecture.
A mobile, interoperable, and multi-domain command
Within the deployed command post, IMPACT’s Delta Suite solution ensures the coordination and conduct of complex special forces missions across three complementary roles, unified by a shared understanding of the situation:
The Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) capability provides real-time coordination and monitoring of missions, enabling continuous visibility across the theater of operations;
The Portable Low Footprint Command and Control (PLFC2) capability shares a tactical battlefield situation with the decision-making level and operational partners;
The Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DaCAS) capability enables seamless and secure integration of air support, directly linked to ground forces.
These capabilities rely on an agnostic and open architecture, which allows IMPACT to natively integrate Delta Suite into the network leading up to the strategic level and to interface this C2 system with drones. This agnosticism is a major advantage: it guarantees interoperability with the systems of the consortium partners, including:
THALES SIX GTS FRANCE SAS (THALES), which ensures strategic connectivity and continuity of command;
HENSOLDT FRANCE SAS (HFS), which provides a critical cybersecurity layer to secure communications and data;
RHEINMETALL ELECTRONICS GMBH (RME), which feeds PLFC2 with sensor data from heterogeneous sources (ground drones), thus enhancing situational awareness.
INTRACOM DEFENSE SA (IDE), whose drones provide mobile sensors and real-time data, directly integrated into the operational flow.
The Delta Suite has been extended and adapted to meet the requirements of the PROTEAS project. It is now a key component of a larger integrated system designed to merge data from multiple weapon systems, sensors, and platforms in real time. It has thus established itself as a key capability for modern multi-domain operations.
With this contribution, IMPACT is affirming its role as a leading player in European defense innovation. By bringing its expertise to the PROTEAS consortium, the company is actively participating in the construction of a deployable command capability that complies with NATO standards and is fully applicable at the European level, an essential condition for the success of future special missions.
About IMPACT:
IMPACT is an innovative French SME based in Orléans (France), publishing software for the Defence and Security sectors since 2012. Its flagship product, Delta Suite, is a modular and interoperable software platform that merges and shares geolocated data from multiple sensors in real time to facilitate the conduct of complex missions, whether on the move, in command centres, in aircraft or ships. Officially labelled “Used by the French Armed Forces”, the company supports the armed forces and security actors by offering them innovative, robust and ergonomic tools adapted to the most demanding operational environments.
