PROTEAS 2nd ELSAB Workshop

On March 11-12, 2025, C&V Defence led the second workshop of the PROTEAS Ethical, Legal and Societal Advisory Board in Brussels. The Board of independent experts, using as guiding principle the “ethics-by-design approach”, focused on addressing critical questions for the ethical legal and societal compliance of the project. Moreover, the experts sharpened their methodology to ensure alignment with the ongoing project developments.

The timing of this workshop execution was intentional, as the deliverables linked to the completion of the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) milestone, prepared by the consortium partners, were shared with the ELSAB (excluding any restricted information), and evaluated to determine whether they contained any items that could affect any Ethical, Legal, or Societal aspects. Following this review, the ELSAB from its side, also verified that PROTEAS consortium has successfully attained the PDR milestone and is well prepared to pursue the Critical Design Review (CDR) milestone, ensuring that its practices do not violate any of these critical aspects.

The entire consortium, with the support of the Board, aims to ensure that the ethical integrity remains at the core of innovation, while the PROTEAS upholds the highest ethical legal and societal standards.
