Squarehead Technology presented Discovair G2+ at Scandinavia’s largest defense exhibition in Herning, Denmark, and used the event to raise awareness of the EDF-funded PROTEAS project.
DALO Industry Days is an important meeting place for the defence community, particularly in Northern Europe, bringing together military users, procurement organisations, government representatives and the defence industry. The 2026 edition at MCH Messecenter Herning gathered 1,244 exhibitors, visitors from 51 countries and more than 21,000 attendees. From a well-placed stand in a highly relevant part of the exhibition, Squarehead Technology presented Discovair G2+, its passive acoustic sensor for drone detection and situational awareness. Conversations with visitors centered on acoustic detection, passive sensor technology and how such systems can be integrated into wider Counter-UAS and force-protection architectures. The event offered a valuable opportunity both to meet existing customers and partners and to build new contacts across the Nordic and European defence community.
Raising awareness of PROTEAS
Squarehead also used the exhibition to inform stakeholders about PROTEAS, a project funded by the European Defence Fund. PROTEAS aims to deliver a prototype deployable command post for field-deployed task groups, combining shelters, power, communications, command and control, an intelligence platform and a perimeter security system. Squarehead’s Discovair acoustic sensor will be integrated into the perimeter security system and connected to the command-and-control layer, providing close-range threat detection to help protect the command post. Rather than being presented as a separate activity, PROTEAS became a natural part of technical and operational discussions on drone detection, passive sensing and base protection. This allowed Squarehead to reach professional groups whose primary interest was drone detection, but who are also highly relevant audiences for the project.
A valuable outcome
DALO Industry Days 2026 strengthened the visibility of Discovair G2+ and Squarehead’s network within the European defense sector. At the same time, the strong interest in passive acoustic detection created a natural entry point for building awareness of PROTEAS among key defense stakeholders.
