PROTEAS 2nd Stakeholder Workshop

The PROTEAS 2nd Stakeholder Workshop convened in Brussels on March 27th and 28th, 2024, under the Coordination of IDE and the workshop’s organization and hosting by C&V Consulting. Representatives from almost all other Consortium Partners (SATWAYS, 8BELLS, ISD, IMPACT, THALES/ATHEA, LEONARDO, RHEINMETALL, dotOcean and SQUAREHEAD), as well as delegates from the Hellenic, Belgian, Italian and French Ministries of Defense (MoDs) attended the 2-day workshop.
While the workshop encompassed various objectives, its primary focus was to provide MoD representatives with comprehensive insights into the PROTEAS Project and its latest developments. The engagement of the supporting MoDs underscored the importance of PROTEAS in addressing critical defense domain challenges and enhancing EU security capabilities.
Specifically, the PROTEAS Concept of Operations (CONOPS) was initially concurred upon, based on the MoDs feedback both during the previous workshop, as well as after that. A dedicated session centered on presenting and discussing specifications, capabilities and limitations of the PROTEAS main Assets. Visual aids such as photos, videos and real time demonstrations facilitated a better understanding of each asset’s intended utilization.
Additionally, the Consolidated Use Cases of PROTEAS, prepared based on the MoDs’ inputs, were presented by the Project Coordinator (IDE), and further to some minor adjustments that were discussed, these were agreed as the basis for the elaboration of the PROTEAS User and in turn System Requirements. The final step involved reviewing and agreeing with the MoDs on the work plan regarding the organization on the 3rd Stakeholder Workshop and setting a clear action plan for the successful completion of the “Study” Phase of the project.
