SUMMARY:5th Athens C4ISR
DESCRIPTION:The 5th Athens C4ISR International Conference and Exhibition\, titled “Agenda 2030: Hellenic Armed Forces Digital Transformation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence War” will be held at the War Museum in Athens\, from November 19-20\, 2024\, organized by DBDC International Defence Publications & Events and the GREEK DEFENCE NEWS magazine. \nThe aim of the conference was knowledge exchange\, tapping into the latest technical developments in land\, navy\, air force platforms and weapon systems\, C4ISR\, Digital Battlefield\, Artificial intelligence and Cyber Security. \nThe project was represented by the Project Coordinator\, INTRACOM DEFENSE (IDE)\, which participated as a Silver Sponsor and Exhibitor and also the Work Package leader on Dissemination\, Communication and Exploitation\, EIGHT BELLS LTD (8BELLS). \nIn this frame\, Dr. Dimitrios Milioris\, Master AI Engineer of IDE and WP6 Leader of the PROTEAS Project\, made a presentation\, titled “Intelligence and Sensing: The cases of IMINT and GEOINT”\, about algorithms for object detection\, identification\, tracking\, geolocation estimation and path planning used for situational awareness. \nDr. Milioris\, among others highlighted the importance of utilizing IMINT and GEOINT in the PROTEAS Project\, to support Special Operations in Small Joint missions. The presentation explored how advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI)\, Machine Learning (ML)\, and sensor integration are transforming defense operations\, with notable contributions to projects such as PROTEAS. \nThe display of the PROTEAS banner at the  IDE booth\, attracted significant interest from the audience\, eager to learn more about the Project. \nAdditionally\, 8BELLS represented PROTEAS with a team of three experts\, actively engaging with defense leaders\, policymakers and high-ranking officials. During their discussions\, they showcased the vision and highlighted the potential impact of PROTEAS.

SUMMARY:PROTEAS 3rd Plenary Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The PROTEAS (“DePloyable Special OpeRations FOrces MulTiEnvironment CommAnd Post and C2 System (SOFCPC2)”) EDF 2022 Project\, convened for its 3rd Plenary Meeting on November 6th and 7th\, in Paris\, France. The meeting was hosted by Consortium Partner\, IMPACT\, a French pioneer in the field of military and security operations. Representatives from all the Consortium Partners joined this crucial meeting\, mandatory for moving forward the Project’s developments. \nThe two-day meeting was of high importance as it built the foundation for reaching the next critical milestone in the Project’s lifecycle\, the Preliminary Design Review (PDR)\, scheduled for M15 (Feb 2025). The primary objectives of the meeting were to review and evaluate the Project’s status and agree on the common roadmap. \nA comprehensive overview of the technical work performed was presented\, followed by a finetuning session to plan and enable further progress. This collaborative session enabled the partners to identify the most effective strategies for the next period. \nAdditionally\, to the 3rd Plenary Meeting\, the 9th Executive Board and the 3rd General Assembly meetings were also held\, permitting strategic decision-making to take place by the Consortium. \nThe meetings’ outcome was very positive\, including fruitful discussions on key topics and agreements on critical points to guide the project forward. Overall\, PROTEAS is progressing quite satisfactorily\, showing promising results in effectively delivering an innovative SOFCP solution.

SUMMARY:PROTEAS Kick off Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Project PROTEAS (DePloyable Special OpeRations FOrces MulTi Environment CommAnd Post and C2 System) is the first of its kind Special Operations Forces (SOF) Command Post C2 (Command & Control) System (SOFCPC2)\, in order to support EU-led SOF Small Joint Operations. The project is funded in the framework of the European Defence Fund – EDF 2022 program and aims to promote the upgraded role of SOF and to reduce the time for operational readiness\, as envisioned by the EU. \nThe PROTEAS Project consortium convened for its highly anticipated kick-off meeting in Athens on the 18 & 19 December\, 2023\, with the active participation of key Ministries of Defence (MoDs). \nLed by IDE\, the PROTEAS Project Coordinator\, the consortium brings together esteemed partners from Greece (ISD S.A.\, Satways)\, Belgium (C&V Consulting\, Dotocean)\, Cyprus (Eight Bells\, Ubitech)\, France (Thales Six GTS France\, Commissariat à l’ Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives\, Hensoldt France SAS\, SAS Impact)\, Germany (Rheinmetall Electronics)\, Italy (Leonardo S.p.A.) and Norway (Squarehead). The MoDs of Greece\, Italy\, France\, Norway and Belgium\, support and co-fund the project. This diverse coalition is united by a common goal: to promote PROTEAS as the future of SOF operations.
